Moving together with a large group is an excellent way to create an improvised team.

A personal story: The team that I am on has a very well defined and set strategy for moving towards the targets in an Attack and Defend game. We have guidelines and rules for moving together and for when things go wrong. The engineer will get the targets, and the med will cover him. There have been times when additional meds have joined the group, to form a swarm of meds around the one man going for targets. We end up moving with 3-4 meds on point, 1 CQB Engineer, and 3-4 meds following. It's quite a sight, to see 8 meds covering 1 man.

If the point man gets to a corner, and stops, jumps or backs up, there is something bad around the corner. If he falls over shot, then there is something very very bad around the corner. You now know that when you approach the corner, you need to be prepared, or you know to take an alternate route and avoid the corner.

Lobbing grenades is a very good way of showing that someone is ina general area, same with shooting, you don't always have to see your opponent to shoot at him. Firing a burst lets others know where someone is or might be.
